Who we are: PitchPay, LLC ("PitchPay," "we"), operator of pitchpaysports.com, unbenchme.com, and the PitchPay/UnbenchMe apps.

Privacy is a core value at PitchPay. In plain terms: you're private by default, you control what's public, and we don't sell your data.

1. Information we collect

• Account & profile: name, email, password (stored hashed by our auth provider), and the profile details you choose to add — position, skill, club, nationality, jersey number, bio, availability, and an optional photo.
• Phone number: if you provide it, for SMS features and verification (optional).
• Location: city/ZIP and, if you enable it, more precise location to match you with nearby games. Location precision is under your control.
• Payments: processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation and limited transaction metadata; we do not store your full card number.
• Usage & device: basic app interactions and standard technical data (e.g., browser type) needed to run and secure the Service. We use browser localStorage, not third-party advertising trackers.

2. How we use it

To create and operate your account; match you with games, teams, and subs; process payments and subscriptions; send transactional and safety messages you've opted into; power the public directory (only if you opt in); keep the community safe; and improve the Service. We do not serve third-party ads and we do not sell your personal information.

3. Privacy by default & your controls

New profiles are private and do not appear in the public UnbenchMe directory until you opt in. You independently control:

• Whether your profile is publicly visible,
• Your availability status,
• Whether your location shows publicly (and how precisely),
• Whether you participate in the SOS Player™ network.

You can change any of these, or delete your profile, at any time.

4. How we share information

• Publicly — only if you opt in: your public profile appears in the UnbenchMe directory and may be indexed by search engines. Private profiles are never shown.
• Service providers who process data for us: Stripe (payments), Twilio (SMS), Supabase (database & hosting), our email provider (transactional email). They act on our instructions.
• Other users: organizers you interact with see the information needed to run a game (e.g., your name and the details you share).
• Legal: if required by law or to protect safety and rights.
• We never sell your personal information.

5. Text messages

SMS is opt-in. If you enable it, we send game reminders, SOS requests, and verification codes via Twilio. Message/data rates may apply; reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. We don't share your number with third parties for their marketing.

6. Data security

Data is protected with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and database row-level security so users can only access what they're permitted to. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access.

7. Data retention

We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is legally required.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to opt out of certain processing. California (CCPA/CPRA) and EU/UK (GDPR) residents have specific rights, including (for the EU/UK) a lawful-basis and data-transfer framework. To exercise any right, contact support@pitchpaysports.com. We won't discriminate against you for exercising them.

9. Children's privacy

The Service is intended for users 18 and older, or minors with verifiable parental/guardian consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.

10. International users

We operate from the United States and process data there. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to processing in the U.S., which may have different data-protection laws than your country.

11. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be posted with a new effective date and, where appropriate, notice.
